Where can I buy Trader?

Trader products are sold exclusively through the electrical wholesale network. 

What are your trading hours?

Our Trading hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm ACST – Australian Central Standard Time. 

Can I purchase Trader products directly or online?

Trader products are sold exclusively through the electrical wholesaler network. However, it is possible for electrical contractors to create an order via our Trader App for your preferred wholesale to process.

Do you have a showroom?

There are no Trader showrooms, but many of our electrical wholesaler partners do have product display areas. Contact one in your area and ask if they have Trader on display.

How do I contact a Trader representative or find my local representative?

I can’t find a product. What do I do?

Your electrical wholesaler should be able to order the product you need, subject to availability.

If you are having difficulties finding one of our products or are confused by our range names, simply contact our Customer Service Team on 1300 301 831 for clarification. 

How do I check my purchase price?

If you are an electrical wholesaler you can contact our Customer Service Team or Trader Representative for our most current price file. Contractors can access trade pricing on our Trader App.

How do I find a tracking number on an invoice?

The Tracking Number is marked below the delivery address on each invoice.

Can someone check my plans and provide me with a product take-off and quote?

Unfortunately, we do not offer an advisory service on electrical plans, designs or product take-offs.

Deliveries & Distribution

Where are your distribution warehouses located?

Our warehouse is situated in metro Adelaide.

What are the expected delivery time frames?

Same day dispatch closes 2pm CST time. Deliveries subject to freight, logistics and unforeseen variables. 

Can I collect directly from your warehouse? Are there any fees for this service?

It is possible to collect ordered goods directly from our Trader warehouse. This is strictly by request and a service fee will be charged. Please liaise with our Customer Service Team on 1300 301 838 prior to collection. 

What is your “Free Into Store” value?

Electrical wholesalers are required to order a minimum order of $250 ex GST to qualify for Free into store. Otherwise the order incurs a $25 freight charge. 

How much does freight cost?

Freight costs vary and are also determined by weight and box dimensions. We advise wholesaler orders to meet our minimum order requirements to take advantage of our free instore delivery. Express services can be arranged at a cost.

How do I get Technical Assistance?

We have a Technical Support Officer in the Trader Team with extensive electrical experience. Please contact our Customer Service Team on 1300 301 838 in the first instance and we can escalate your issue if necessary.

Can you custom print on mechs and plates?

Yes! We can print labels on both switch mechanisms and switch plates. We can also print pictures on switch plates too.

Our “SKCUSTOMMECH” Service is available via your electrical wholesaler. Allow 5-7 days for delivery, subject to stock availability.

Do Trader mechs fit other switch plates?

Trader switch mechanisms are interchangeable with some other brands’ switch plate designs but not all. Best to check with your electrical wholesaler or electrical contractor.

Do you have a single USB mechanism only?

We no longer offer a single USB charger mechanism module due to the low charging rates these achieve. Our USB product range offer consists of fully integrated models with class leading charging rates.

Do you have a replacement for Clipsal Slimline?

Our Flat Cat Range is one of the closest match-ups to the no longer available Clipsal Slimline range. Please note, switch and power point covers are not interchangeable and in most cases you will need to replace the entire unit.

Are Trader dimmers compatible with all downlights?

Trader dimmers work well with most downlights sold through the electrical wholesaler network with some exceptions. For optimum performance our dimmers work best ie. flicker free with our Scorpion range of downlights.

Do your dimmers support multiway dimming?

Our Dimpala push-button Dimmer DIMPBD (& DIMPBDA) together with our Meerkat MEPBMW (&MEPBMWA) Multiway push-button switch is one of the few dimming combinations on the market that enables multi-way dimming.

Are your dimmers trailing edge or leading edge?

Our Dimpala Dimmers are designed as Trailing edge dimmers with a linear response and work best with LED lights.

Why does my smoke detector keep false alarming?

There are a number of reasons why a smoke alarm will give off a false alarm. The most common causes are dust and insect contamination. We recommend you vacuum around your smoke alarm or blow with a cool air dryer to clear any dust or spider webs away.

How to troubleshoot the BESMOKEY/BESMOKEY4 smoke alarm if it is beeping after replacing the battery.

After replacing the battery with a new one, press the hush button on the alarm for 2 seconds. Clean the smoke alarm thoroughly with a vacuum cleaner or blow dryer. Press Test. If the nuisance alarm continues contact our Customer Service Team on 1300 301 838 for further assistance.  

Do you have heat detector alarms?

Heat detector alarms are currently not part of our Trader offer.

What is an RCD/RCCB/RCBO?

RCD stands for Residual Current Device. It is a safety device that is designed to provide protection against electrocution and electrical fires. Other names for an RCD are Safety Switch, ELCBs (Earth leakage circuit breaker), RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breaker), RCB (Residual Current Breaker). An RCBO stands for Residual Current Breaker with Over-Current. It is a combination of an RCD and MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker) and is often used in switchboards where saving space is a premium.

What does the KA rating of your circuit protection mean?

kA stands for kiloampere, a unit measurement of electrical current. The kA rating on a circuit breaker is the maximum short-circuit current value that a circuit breaker can break at a given voltage.

We back all of products with an excellent warranty. Firstly, please check that the product in question falls within our warranty period.

Product is warrantied for safe and effective operation and assumes installation and maintenance per guidelines.

 

We ask that you return the faulty good to the place of purchase, who will raise a GRA Goods Return Approval with our Customer Service Team. 

What are your shipping/return policies?

We offer a generous return policy. Electrical Wholesalers must raise a GRA, Goods Return Approval document with the purchased value as well as a replacement order for new goods to the same value.

Do you have a loyalty/rewards program?

Yes, we offer a yearly Rewards programme from June to November on our Trader App called “Paws Rewards.” Rewards are exclusive to electrical contractors only. Download the Trader App from the App Store or Google Play.

Where can I buy Trader merchandise?

Trader Merchandise is available to electrical contractors via the Trader App Paws Rewards Programme and also through the many electrical wholesaler promotions we undertake. We also encourage contractors to reach out to our Trader Representatives and arrange a visit.
